There's a few things I do not remember the way the author does: I'd say the P9 was "dropped" when the first New company (Springfield Armory, Geneseo, IL (?)) went bankrupt. They had a few models/projects similar to the P9 agreement and were planing on having an Astra (A-75 ?) rebadged too for example.
Pistols projects and licenses were not retained alongside 1911 models when Springfield Armory Inc reappeared.
Again, this is what I remember.

On the other hand I'm very happy that someone else remembers the P9 being offered in .45 ACP (with paper thin barrel) in its original/small Tanfoglio frame size.
