On Saturday I had my first attempt at IDPA shooting and loved it. This wasn't a match but what the club called a clinic. We spent about 3 hours going over rules, safety, and demonstrations. After lunch we shot. We started out shooting the IDPA classifier as practice and so the SO's could gage are gun handling. I didn't realize until yesterday that it was the classifier. So after the practice, where I shot while moving for the first time, there were 2 COF's setup where we would be timed. On the first stage I shot all 5 targets down 0 but had 2 procedural penalties. On the second stage again 0 down but only one procedural this time. I really need to learn those rules. To say I'm hooked is an understatement. I love it. Matches are once a month through November. I can't wait. Oh yeah I shot my Witness .45 in a homemade kydex IWB holster with 2 homemade single mag carriers. As soon as I have pictures of the gear I will get them posted.
